For this one-adult Dubai private-hotel example, bring about AED 13,000 for 30 days, AED 25,000 for 60 days, or AED 38,000 for 90 days. Keep AED 2,000 as return fare you do not spend. The 90-day row uses September and October hotel rates, and assumes November at the October price; November is not a published offer. Apply online before you book a long stay.
Arriving now or in October? The totals below assume AED 5,000 for the first 30 hotel nights. They are planning examples, not a quote for a stay starting today. A September arrival can overlap October’s higher rate. If your first 30 nights cost AED 8,500 instead, add AED 3,500: the totals become AED 16,170 for 30 days, AED 28,445 for 60 days and AED 40,825 for 90 days, with every other allowance unchanged. Replace each hotel allowance with the total quoted for your exact dates. Later months are assumptions until priced; event supplements and availability can raise the bill.

What this example is
One adult, arriving in Dubai to look for work, staying in a private hotel room, using public transport, and applying from outside the UAE.
This budget includes a job-exploration visit visa applied for from outside the UAE through GDRFA Dubai. The fees used here are for that route.
The official UAE government portal lists 60, 90 or 120 days, one trip, without a host. You need:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- The prescribed financial guarantee.
- Either of these: MOHRE skill level 1, 2 or 3, or graduation within the last two years from a top-500 university under the classification approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Required documents include a photo, a passport valid for at least six months, and an attested university certificate. Add your inbound flight and document-preparation costs to the figures below. They are outside this stay budget. The certificate-attestation guide explains the steps and fees.
A 30, 60 or 90 day budget does not grant that stay. Leave on or before the end date printed on the visa, even if cash remains. A 90-day spend uses a selected 90-day permission in this example. A 120-day permission, if issued, would also cover a 90-day spend.
You cannot work on a visit or tourist visa. Official jobs FAQ. Interviews and applications are not employment. Do not start work, including probation, before the appropriate work permit is issued. Looking for work on another lawful visit or tourist permission your passport allows is also possible. Follow the permitted stay on your actual visa; it is not a work permit.
This is not a city average and not a job-success forecast. A different passport, emirate, hotel or month changes the cash.
If you already have an employer arranging your entry, use the arrival checklist instead of this search-stay budget.

Exact example: AED 12,670. The rounded target is AED 13,000.
The jobseeker visa’s shortest published option is 60 days. This 30-day spend still uses that 60-day visa.

What sits behind those rows
Hotel, not a yearly apartment. Rove’s monthly offer (1 September to 30 October 2026, minimum 30 nights, all-in: 7% municipality fee, 10% service charge, 5% VAT and AED 10 Tourism Dirham) is the dated sample:
- Rove Bur Dubai and Rove City Centre, Deira: from AED 4,999 in September and AED 8,499 in October. The budget uses AED 5,000 then AED 8,500.
- Rove at the Park (Jebel Ali): from AED 3,999 in September and AED 5,499 in October. Cheaper, longer commute. Not the main row.
- The first 30 nights are non-refundable if you leave early. November is not priced on this page; the third month assumes the October allowance, not an observed November offer.
This is a private hotel room or hotel apartment. It is not a yearly studio, not a refundable rent deposit, and not a crowded shared room. Annual rent from the Dubai living-cost guide is a different product.
Visa fees, GDRFA Dubai, from outside the UAE: 60 days AED 200, 90 days AED 300, plus 5% VAT. Add AED 20 warranty service and AED 40 to collect and return the guarantee. The AED 1,000 guarantee is refundable after a lawful exit. It is cash you lock, not a monthly bill. Extra fees for an inside-country application are not in this example.
Phone: e& Visitor Line Premium is AED 125 including VAT, 8 GB, 28 days, new SIM included. Packs can be bought again at the same price. The line follows your visa; conversion to a regular prepaid or postpaid plan needs an Emirates ID. This is not a 12-month home plan.
Transport: Dubai nol Silver 30-day all-zone pass AED 350 (checked 11 September 2026) plus a chosen AED 200 taxi allowance for interviews per 30 days.
Food: chosen AED 80 a day because this stay is a hotel room, not a rented kitchen. It is not the resident grocery row.
Insurance: chosen AED 200 per 30 days. Some visit visas require health cover. GDRFA’s fee table for this visa does not list a premium, so this is an allowance, not a named policy.
Return fare: chosen AED 2,000, already usable, already booked or held as fare. Change this to your real ticket.
Do not count a future salary, a promised start date, or return of the visa guarantee as money you can live on.
Keep the return fare and leave on time
Keep the AED 2,000 return fare and the AED 1,000 lodged guarantee out of spendable cash. Do not count prepaid hotel nights again.
Balance check: money still available must cover unpaid remaining bills (food, hotel nights not yet billed, phone, transport, insurance), departure costs if the return fare is not already booked, and contingency. In this Rove example the first 30 nights are already paid and non-refundable, so they are not another hotel bill. After that prepaid stay is paid, the unpaid daily bills are food, remaining phone packs, remaining transport and remaining insurance, plus any later hotel month not yet billed.
Leave on or before the date printed on the visa even if interviews continue. Overstay is not a job-search tactic.
Recruitment fees: do not pay an agency to secure a job. Official guidance states that the employer pays agency recruitment fees. If someone asks you to pay for the visa or medical as a condition of the job, treat that as a warning.
